IILM is an Associate Institute of the University of Bradford and offers undergraduate programmes of the School of Management, University of Bradford.
The University of Bradford located in Bradford, Yorkshire which is 200 miles by road from London, has the prestigious EQUIS accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development for the quality of its teaching. The Business School has also recieved portfolio accreditations fr all its MBA programmes from AMBA. Their M.Sc in Human Resource Management is accredited by CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development).Their doctoral programmes are accredited by ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) The Financial Times has (January 2010) ranked Bradford University School of Management's MBA programmeas 15th in the UK, 24th in Europe and 89th in the world.
IILM has been rated as A++ in the 9th Annual Business India B-school Survey 2008. It is one of the best private business schools in Northern India and ranked amongst the top 20 colleges in India in terms of Infrastructure, Intellectual Capital and collaborations. IILM is not only recognized as a business school but also as an institute which emphasizes on holistic development of students which has ensured that our students have excelled in their respective fields be it in higher education, entrepreneurship or corporate positions.
Upon successful completion of your studies, you will be awarded a degree by the University of Bradford. IILM holds a “Graduation Ceremony” where the successful graduands are awarded the degree by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bradford.
The Degrees awarded are B.Sc (Honours) in Business and Management, B.Sc (Honours) in Accounting and Finance and B.Sc (Honours) in Marketing.
The University of Bradford is one of the world’s leading academic institutions, and its degrees are internationally recognized. The students have the following options to pursue further studies in India and abroad.
In India
- Students can apply for Postgraduate courses offered by Delhi University’s Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Department of Economics, Commerce, Financial Studies and Faculty of Law
- Students can apply for all Postgraduate courses offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)
- Students are eligible to appear in the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) which is used by B-Schools for admission to their post graduate programmes in India
b) Overseas
- The University of Bradford degree is internationally accredited and accepted. After completion of the B.Sc. (H) degree, students can pursue higher studies in any college or university in the United Kingdom, USA and other countries
The University of Delhi permits IILM UBS students to apply for post graduate course offered by Delhi University's Faculty of Management Studies, Department of Commerce, Economics, Financial Studies and Faculty of Law.
We do know of an IILM alumnus who has joined IIMB.
We are not sure of any any IILM UBS student who has gone to XLRI/XIM.
This will have to be checked specifically with Calcutta University.
LLB is a pre-requisite for the LLM program.
IILM students have sat for CAT examination in the past.

University of Bradford is accredited by AIU . The AIU website (http://www.acu.ac.uk/institutions/view?id=243) lists the accredited foreign universities as given in the Commonwealth University's handbook. University of Bradford is listed here.
- Will I get the same degree as awarded by University of Bradford to students studying at their campus in UK?
The University of Bradford has confirmed that the degree offered by the IILM Undergraduate Business School is in all respects, equivalent to the degree they offer in the UK. (Please refer to the University of Bradford letter which is available on our website). (To provide link)
It takes a minimum period of three years to complete the degree.
At Bradford University, as is the case in most of the western universities, the study of Management is considered a science and so it is called a Bachelor of science (Honours) in Business and Management.
- Is there a difference between a student enrolled at the Bradford University and a student enrolled at IILM?
No, A student studying at IILM for his Bradford course gets a similar degree as the student studying at Bradford University, except for the fact that they attend the full time course in IILM, India.
- Is the academic experience of the student enrolled for the Bradford degree at IILM the same as that of a student enrolled in the Bradford University in U.K.?
Yes. Students will get the same course content for Lectures & Tutorials. Indian students get the same quality of academic experience as those who study full time at the School of Management, University of Bradford. Examination papers are set and marked by the faculty members of the University of Bradford.
- Is it possible to take transfer to the Bradford University or any other foreign university after finishing the first year here at IILM?
Yes, It is possible to take transfer to the University of Bradford both in the second and third years provided you fulfil the credit requirements of the first and second year respectively. You may also take transfers to many Universities in the UK and US.
Students from IILM have taken transfers to some of the best and reputed Universities in UK. Warwick, LSE, Leeds, Lancaster, Cardiff, Wharton to name a few. Our students are accepted internationally because of the acceptability of Bradford as an International University.
The examinations are held at IILM, New Delhi & Gurgaon campus on fixed dates in January and May and the supplementary examinations are held in August each year. The papers are set and second marked in Bradford University, with the first marking done by the IILM faculty..
This is not a run off the mill course. It requires a great degree of focused study and critical thinking. Nevertheless, the teaching methodology and the topics covered under various modules make the process of learning easy and engrossing for the student. IILM adapts similar pedagogy of the Bradford University which prepares the student to face the rigours of post graduate degrees when they choose to apply to foreign universities.
The class size for lectures is 50 and the class size for tutorials is 25.
The methods of teaching used at the IILM Undergraduate School are as per the guidelines of University of Bradford. The basic teaching tools are:
- Lectures
Lectures by faculty members give students basics on how to approach the course. It becomes the starting point of thinking and reading the course.
- Tutorials and Discussions
The tutorials with small class size, take up application oriented issues, solving problems, case studies and discussions on issues concerning various topics.
- Seminars/Presentations
Seminars and Presentations involve a small group of students.
- Blackboard
Blackboard is a virtual learning environment (VLE) that enables faculty members and students to share learning material, communicate and collaborate on-line. It is web based and can therefore be accessed from any computer with a web browser and Internet connection.
- Guest Lectures
Guest Lectures by eminent personalities in business and social sectors are conducted on a regular basis to provide students with valuable insight into contemporary business and industrial perspectives and the current socio-economic environment.
- Industry Visits
Industry visits are organized to provide a proper understanding of the industrial sector and relate theory to real life situation.
- Coursework
Most modules require coursework assignments, which may be individual or group projects, wherein students are expected to apply the concepts to real life management problems.
The faculty teaching the Bradford programme are well qualified and their appointments are also approved by the University of Bradford. Faculty from the University of Bradford visit IILM at regular intervals to meet faculty , discuss syllabi and delivery, and give lectures to the students. In addition, the Director of Studies for the programme from the University of Bradford visits IILM approximately three times each year. The Director of Studies monitors and facilitates in getting the required academic support to ensure quality and provide a similar teaching and learning experience as that of Bradford to IILM students.
At IILM we prepare our students to be the leaders of tomorrow. In the summer we provide the students with the unique opportunity of applying the skills acquired by way of a summer internship in an industry of their choice. Students can choose from amongst a wide variety of companies from different industries such as Banking and Finance, Marketing, FMCG, Hospitality etc to do a summer internship.
Interested students may also apply for placement opportunities and the Institute’s placement cell works towards arranging placement opportunities to qualified students.

IILM also offers a study abroad experience by taking student groups to a number of Universities and industries abroad through its annual study abroad programme.
We have two campuses for Undergraduate Business School .One is in Lodhi Road ,New Delhi & other is in Gurgaon.
