Chat with Diplomats
IILM Institute for Higher Education proudly hosted the prestigious “Chat with Diplomats” event, on the occasion of the “International Day of the Girl Child”, in partnership with the High Commission of Canada, on October 7, 2016, at their Lodhi Road Campus. On this occasion, Mr. Matt Friesen, Head of Advocacy, Canadian High Commission, The Deputy High Commissioner of Canada, Jess Dutton, The Mexican Ambassador, Melba Pria, The Deputy High Commissioner of Australia, Chris Elstoft, His Excellency Ben Joubert, The Ambassador of South Africa, The Ambassador of Finland, Nina Vaskunlahti and The American Ambassador, Richard Verma shared their thoughts and enlightened the audience.
We had a guest lecture for SBS Stage 1 students for Management class by Dr. Sumita Ketkar, Westminster University, UK, on Nov 17, 2016, from 1 to 2 pm.
Dr. Ketkar is a Senior Lecturer in Leadership and Development department at Westminster University since 2009. She completed her Ph.D. in Management in 2007 from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, which is one of the premier business management institutes in Asia. She received ‘Highly Commended’ award for Outstanding Doctoral Research, by Emerald Group, the UK for the year 2008 and has publications in leading academic journals. She has worked in the corporate sector for about 5 years in which she was associated with the implementation of various HR interventions including a massive organizational restructuring exercise involving SBUs in different sites. She was also an in-house trainer and trained managers and front-line staff. Her interest in teaching eventually led her to the field of research and education.
Dr. Ketkar addressed the IILM-SBS Stage 1 students on Diversity and managing global teams. She helped the student appreciate the difference between diversity and inclusion. Through small exercises, cases and stories, she made the session interesting and informative for the students.

IILM hosted the book release of “Loktantra ke Utsav ki ankahi kahani“, Hindi translation of “An Undocumented Wonder: The Great Indian Election Book” authored by Dr. S.Y.Quraishi, Former Chief Election Commissioner of India and Chairman of IILM Board of Governors. The book was released by the Hon’ble Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu on International Day of Democracy at IILM Lodhi Road Campus. The function was presided by Shri A.K. Joti, Chief Election Commissioner of India. The occasion was graced by several eminent people from the media, government, IILM faculty, and students. Prominent people like the eminent journalist Shri Shekhar Gupta, Prof. Pushpesh Pant, Ms. Sheela Bhatt and Shri Nirmal Pathak were the experts who contributed to the panel discussion that took place after the book launch.
Prof. Bert Wolfs, Academic Dean, SBS Swiss Business School and Ms. Izabela Karanfiloska, Program Manager – MBA, SBS Swiss Business School, Switzerland visit IILM and interact with the undergraduate students annually. Prof. Wolfs also chairs the thesis viva of the Stage 3 students and confers the degree on students on the day of their convocation.
