PRME Conferences by IILM, Delhi

As part of our mission to productively engage with government, business and society at large, several national and international events are organized throughout the year at IILM – ranging from research conferences to workshops, and admission sessions to alumni meets, and more. Key highlights of the recently held IILM – Undergraduate Business School conferences are provided below in brief:

PRME Conference 2017

Date : 9-11 February, 2017
Venue : IILM, Lodhi Road, New Delhi
Time: 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM

IILM Institute in collaboration with UN Global Compact’s PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) hosted 4th international conferences on “Sustainability and Innovation: Key Drivers of Responsible Management” from 9th-11th February at Lodhi Road Campus, New Delhi. Two authors were awarded for best research work in the area of sustainable livelihood and growing inequalities respectively.  The Conference was inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of United Nations.

The three-day conference provided insight and knowledge on SDG goals of the UN which was addressed by industry experts with years of practical experience working in the field and prominent academicians. First day of the conference commenced with the first plenary session on the topic “Innovation Drives Entrepreneurship”. The first session revolved around SDG 8.

The second session on “Sustainability: The New Business Excellence Mantra – Top Leadership Perspective” focused on how the roles of businesses in society have changed pragmatically in recent years. This session revolved around the implementation of SDG sub goal-12.6.

Theme for session 3 was “Innovation for Meeting the National Sustainability Goals” which was centered on United Nations’ 2030 agenda for achieving sustainable development. Session 4 on “CSR Provisions in the Companies Act: Implications for Corporate Sustainability” revolved around the inclusion of the sustainability agenda in Indian legislature.

The third day of the conference commenced with session 5 on “Social Innovations for the Bottom-of-the-Pyramid” wherein experts elaborated on how start-ups and social innovators are penetrating the market base consisting of lower socio-economic customers. This session aimed at discussing SDG 10 and how it is being implemented in India.

The sixth session of the international conference at IILM focused on “Sustainable Supply Chains: A Business Imperative”.

The key objective of the conference was to create awareness of SDGs among organizations, policy makers, NGOs and to initiate the activities with focus on SDGs and related issues in business schools’ programs and research.

16th Vivekananda Memorial Debate

Date: 17 and 18 February 2017
Venue: IILM, Lodhi Road, New Delhi

IILM organized 16th Vivekananda Memorial Debate competition on 17th and 18th February 2017. IILM has emerged as one of the most respected and sought after debating grounds for the debaters from the prestigious educational institutions across India. More than 30 teams across the country compete for the VMD Trophy every year and total cash prize for this year’s VMD was Rs 1, 00,000.

IILM Annual Alumni Meet

Venue: IILM, New Delhi

IILM Alumni meet is organized to bring together the alumni and fellow batch mates to communicate and network with the students of IILM. Alumni Meet at IILM is a continuous journey of the lifelong relationships – both professional and personal. This Alumni Meet connects over 9000+ member.

The next PRME conference is scheduled for 8th, 9th and 10th February 2018.
